We were thinking this is probably the best place to "toss this out" to the "masses." Most of the folks from the Worcester area know that we both held offices on the New England Country Music Club's executive board for many years...
During our terms we brought forth an idea of having a "Songwriters' Jamboree" at the Uxbridge VFW. Originally, it was to feature the talents of members of the NECMC as we have several songwriters within the club. The idea was accepted by our members, but has not yet come to fruition....
SO! We thought "HEY! There are a lot of songwriters out there!"
We are looking at a date in- August, 2009- to feature songwriters from ALL over!
This will work in two positive ways.
See? WIN, WIN.
The only thing we ask is; all songwriters agree to do a "cover song" for the folks who have the NEED to hear music they are familiar with-- don't get us started on that!
We can't say how many times we have told people- "Every song you LOVE today started out as a song you never heard before!" LET'S SHOW THEM!
We want the local country fans to see that ALL the talent isn't in Nashville...
there is terrific talent everywhere if you just open your ears and mind!
We would like to know if any songwriters who come to this page would be interested in joining other songwriters at this event.
Trust us- coordinating shows is nothing new for us- we will work it out to everyone's advantage.
The NECMC is a fine club that has been promoting local talent for the past 41 years- now, as we head into our 42nd year, we are ready and willing to promote new ideas and provide country music fans & friends with the BEST talent around! Please join us!
